Intake Manifold

Hello..... I just purchased my first mustang gt convertible it is a 1989. I want to change the intake manifold the car is completely stock all I want to do is add bolt on parts and suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I am looking at a Trick flow street intake what other part do you guys recommend.

Depends on the budget my friend. On my 95 I had to do it piece by piece and did UD pullies, short belt bypassing smog pump. Then up next it was headers, h pipe and FM mufflers. Last to go on the car was the Trick Flow upper and lower along w/ebay purchased mass air meter and Throttle body.

Just do your research and spend your money wisely.

well since it sounds like you plan to do no cam or head upgrade get intake that works well with the stock cams rpms range.

Unless you're going to upgrade your cylinder heads and cam, you're not going to get much gain at all by installing an intake by itself. You'd be much better served by spending the money on gears or exhaust. 3.73 or 4.10 gears will be the best bang for the buck in increasing your performance, but will cost more than an intake. Exhaust will give you about the same increase as a manifold, will make your car sound better and won't have to be removed to install the heads and cam you'll want to do later.

Welcome, and go with gears and exhaust first.
