347 Air Flow Issues
 

hey guys. I have tweecer, and i have been told that my flow readings from the MAF are low for my combo. You can see my combo in my sig, and at WOT at 6000 rpm, im pulling in about 1000 kg/hr of air through the MAF. Ive been told that similar combinations pull about 1400-1450 WOT at 6k. What the heck could be holding back 450 kg/hr of air flow? thats a LOT of air and fuel my car is missing out on...

ive been told that it could be the crappy typhoon intake, the spark plugs being gapped wrong, the timing not being set to 10* at idle, maybe the velocity of the air flow because the MAF is 77mm, the intake can handle a 70mm TB, and i opened it by hand to accept a 75mm TB; or that the Catalytic Converters could be clogged.

any other opinions, or anyone agree with any of these?

it could also be that i have 1.7 rockers, and the cam lift is not like .576/.598, and the AFR heads come with .550" max springs...

plugs and timing dont effect how much air the motor is taking in. Unless were talking about cam timing.

i was told that the spark gap could affect "spark blow out," and if the gap is too big, then the compression could cause the spark to blow out or something, thus hurting the power stroke, which hurts air flow. thats about what ive been told.

i also have a stall issue sometimes when im almost at a stop, usually moving around parking lots. the car stalls, not me, im not a moron lol.

does this sound right / possible? any other ideas?

spark blow out wouldnt cause your car to do that at low engine speeds while not under a load.

no i mean at like 4500+ RPM

I called AFR and they said "it is definitely, even without looking at the dyno, the springs. lifting that much, the springs cant handle it, and they need to be upgraded ... then MAYBE an RPMII manifold"

typhoon intakes suck...

go for the springs and a nicer intake.
