Default Timing

How hard is it to find the timing once it has been lost?

best thing ot do is spin the crank till its at TDC (top dead center) the mark on the crank will be straight up and then take the cap off the distributor and see if its pointing at the number one cyclinder spark plug wire. if its not pull the distributor and move it till the rotor is aiming at the no. 1 cyclinder.

If its the timing chain same meathod but match the dot on the timing chain with the dot on the crankshaft.
