Default electrical problens

my car just started doing this. when i start it it runs rough and then volt guage moves around. Then when i try to move, it just dies, and i have no electrical power. i mean none. Then about five minutes later it comes back. Then the car r runs fine. i have cleaned the battery terminals but havent check the wire yet. any sugg.

I had the same problem in my 94 GT. A ground wire by my battery broke and my electrical system went haywire. Check all your ground connections.

double on the ground connections
make sure your ground strap is good also

double check connections...
then if all is OK... check the Solenoid (if ya dont know what that is-> http://www.solenoids.com/ )
then if thats OK... get a battery...
if its still acts up... it would be yer alternator...

alternators are expensive so save that for last...

thanks for the help everyone. it ended up being the battery post were very diry. i cleaned them and no more problem. Just as a side notmy car had a bad vibration coming from the motor. so i replaced the motor mounts and that didnt fix it. then i found that my harmonic balancer was bad, so i put a new one on and the problem went way. just wanted to post this in case any one else has a vibration and cant figure out were it coming from.

well i had the same problem so i checked all my conections and they were fine so i was able to drive it to my local auto part store so they can check my alternator and it was runnin low amps so i undid the positive cable just to see if it was the alternator... and it died... so i replaced the alternator now everything is running fine
