Better have it looked at, because if you did strip threads out, then you could have some shavings floating around down there. Your oil filter will catch probably all of it. I would make sure your threads are in top shape and then do and oil and filter change just for the filter may have some metal shavings inside of it. Best to get that filter off cause it did it's job.
Filters catch the bad stuff, but the bad stuff also decreases the filters ability to keep your oil flowing at an optimum rate..

And better yet if you do find your threads were stripped, I would drop the oil pan and look closer. Your oil screen will catch them big chunks, but you don't want those fingernail clipping sized stuff anywhere in your oil pan. IMHO, If I blew a plug out, I would be in Preventive Maintenance mode in a big hurry.
