You post is very honest and brave.....a good lesson to others. It is never too late to turn your life around, but there is no free lunch either. The fact is, there are other more deserving people who actually studied and earned grades.
My oldest brother was a C student in HS.....ended up with a double-major in EE and Physics from U of I. BUT, he had to go to Junior college first to re-establish himself as a student. He got straight A's in college.
