Mark Zuckenberg (a dork, not a cop) founded facebook as a tool for his fellow Harvard alums to keep in touch and have a little fun with. It was spread from there to the rest of the Ivy League schools after 60% of the dufi at Harvard signed up within weeks.
Mark is an icon in the social networking space and currently sits as CEO of Facebook.com. I work for a social networking company and I'm familiar with most of the fully launched goop allowing dumbasses to pollute the net with their lame ass poetry... not one of the dozens of major sites I'm aware of existing has been started by a "cop". To boot, almost without fail they're started by DORKS.
Law enforcement agencies are not only slow to catch on to online crime but they consistently mis-characterize the crimes they do manage to find happening which strains and frequently botches subsequent interdiction and prosecution efforts. The little effort that police agencies put into trying to find and prosecute crime perpetrated via the web would be far better served elsewhere.
If you're going to spout off crap like "a cop founded face book" as a rebuttal to an argument, at least for the love of FSM (may his noodly appendage touch you) check your facts.
