the quran is pretty much devoted to the idea that the only appropriate things to be doing are those things that are good for islam. Personal spiritual connections with allah aren't important since you have work to do promoting islam instead of answering life's ultimate questions. There is little of love thy neighbor for the sake of doing so and a lot of love thy muslim neighbor and force everyone else to submit to sharia law or die.
The jihadists have perverted the whole meaning of jihad. There are prescribed rules of engagement spelled out which are regularly violated by those that profess their faith most fervently (in the form of terrorist acts).
And yeah... it says a lot about killing infidels with lots of handy tips for identifying them, oppressing them, mass murdering them, how it's ok to lie to infidels but not to fellow muslims (makes for fun negotiations huh) and the benefits of a career in lying to, oppressing and killing "infidels".
