I am not a fan of mixed and matched suspension parts. These things are tuned to work together on a street car. If your car has miles on it like it does, you should definately get struts/shocks with springs. You will be amazed at how it handles especially with a car with 100k on the ticker.
BUT, if you were my kid, I would say leave it stock and save your money for a GT.
