You can substitute the DIY intercooler kit for the discharge pipe kit. The discharge pipe kit only includes the pipe, couplers,clamps, and a BPV. A new bosch bypass valve kit costs about $75. However...IF you decide to use the Intercooler kit, you WILL need a big bypass valve. You can run the car with a small bosch BPV, but you will get compressor surge. The compressor surge is hard on the blower's impeller. At lower boost levels like 8-10 psi it should not directly effect the impeller wheel, but over an extended amount of time it will. A Vortech maxflow BPV sells for $230 brand new from that site. So in the end if you are going with an intercooler, it is worthless to buy the discharge tube kit..Check out the "accessories" section of that site and check out the selection of bypass valves they offer.....
