I have had both so I guess I should comment.
First the ProCharger:
I had a P1SC with a 3 core intercooler. The blower was very cumbersome and takes up allot of space in the engine compartment. It leaked like a faucet and ATI flat out insulted me when I tried to speak to them about servicing it. In so many words they blamed the leaks on me and litterally called me an "ameture idiot." Now, the blower made some SICK power and could be spun pretty high before it would start pumping out heat soaked air but when the air is full of oil, it causes detonation just as bad as heat. It is VERY difficult to install (contrary to the popular beliefe that the fact that it's self contained makes it easy) and the intercoolers rarely fit without making modifacations to the car's structure. Install took me 2 1/2 days.
Vortech SQ-trim V-2 (current blower): Very easy and straight forward install. THE OIL LINES ARE NOT HARD TO INSTALL!!!! The most common and affoardable blower, the SQ and S Trims tend to get a little hot when you run some serious boost. Anything above the 15 psi mark is going to really put the V-2 S units to their limit and will in turn cause some very hot discharge temps. So far I have had a 3" pulley on mine (which came stock with a 3.66" pulley) and have had no problems other than hot discharge which I can remedy very easily by either spraying a 25 or 50 shot, or use water injection.
The blower is allot smaller and fits in it's mounting locations perfect. Install took 5-6 hours and the oil return line was cake with the right tools.
If I could do it again:
I'd go with a Paxton Novi with Paxtons intercooler. In my opinion it's the best centrif blower on the market. The Novi 2k is just as at home making 8 psi on a stock motor as it is making 18 psi on a fully built renegade motor. It's efficient and durable and the intercooler set up fit's like a glove. Not to mention Vortech/Paxton has AWESOME customer service.
