Nope, I didn't ask her parents. I can understand some guys wanting to do that, out of respect in some form, but to me, it didn't matter whether one or both of her parents didn't want me to ask her, because frankly it's none of their concern. But, both of her parents love me as their own son, so that's a mute point anyways.

We were together for less than five weeks before I asked her. The "where\how" I asked goes as follows;

About a week after we met, I knew I was going to ask her. I wrote her a small letter, basically saying that I know she's the one for me, that we were going to have a wonderful life together, and that I already know I'm going to ask her, and that I also know she's going to say yes. I dated it with whatever date it was that I wrote it. I then put it in an envelope, put the envelope in one of those UPS\Fed-Ex cardboard envelopes and sealed it. I then gave that to her best friend and asked her to hold onto it.

Then about 3-4 weeks later, on a Saturday, I started the process beginning in the morning. I woke before her, and made breakfast for her and served it to her in bed. Then asked her to get dressed, and took her to a couple of craft shows during the mid-morning. (That's significant only because she LOVES arts&crafts, and I would never go with her to the shows when she would ask me to.) Then, for lunch, I took her to wine & hot-air balloon festival, where we had a picnic lunch. After that, I took her an Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon, where I had already purchased a two hour spa & massage treatment for her. Then I took her to see some chick-flick she had been bugging me to see, but that I kept refusing to go to. Then it was back home, for a relaxing bath. Then off to dinner at her favorite resturant. We talked about how much of a perfect day it was for her, and I then said there was one last thing, and signaled for the waiter to bring over the ring box on his tray, and I told her that as perfect as that day was for her, I wanted to spend the rest of my life trying to out do it, and if she'd marry me, I would. She said yes.

The next night, we and all of our friends went out to a local dance/karoke bar, to celebrate. A little bit into the night, her best friend got on stage, and called everyones attention. She asked my wife to come up. When she did, her friend pulled out the UPS\Fed-Ex envelope with the letter I had written weeks before hand. Her friend explained what it was and when I had written it. She then told me wife to open it up and read what was inside. That's when my wife knew, that I knew, within just a few days of meeting her, that we were meant for each other, and that I was going to ask her to marry me and that I knew she was going to say yes.
