Wow, this thread got hot with a quickness. I agree, all the race & gender blocks on job applications should be removed. Unless your gender and race will make a difference in the ability to perform that job (i.e. special forces personnel need to blend in with the locals in certain circumstances). I know for a fact that racism is not dead, I've seen it happen to my wife at her work on several ocassions. But since she's a caucasian woman, she's afraid to bring any attention to it. Anyway, this thread has been fairly interesting to read, at least some of the posts have been. I'm glad someone had the testicular fortitude to bring the topic up. Many people, including myself normally, steer away from volatile topics like this on a web based forum.
