find a used bottom end and slap it on, that'll get you running cheap on part costs. If you go 96-98GT for the bottom end you'll see a compression bump and a little more power.
You probably beat the ring lands out of the 3 dead slugs so a full rebuild is kinda it if you stay in your existing block. Check craigslist.org and see if someone has a 4.6 for cheap. You can just do the bottom end or go whole hog and repalce the whole engine. Then you'll have your block left to do a build-up on for the next time.
You can use 4.6 bottom ends from just about any 4.6 car or truck. Just make sure to use your oil pan and pickup and your front cover and heads/intake/headers.
