Question 06 Mustang V6 Auto Trans

Let me give you a little background. I bought an 06 V6 Mustang with an automatic trans. I would like to improve the shifting. I would like the shifts to be much quicker. My only previous experience with an automatic is when I had a shift kit installed in my 1969 Torino (C6). I had rebuilt the trans myself and had noticed that the gears engaged by using a series of clutch plates and piston to engage the plates with each shift of the trans. After the rebuild, I had a trans shop open up a hole in the restrictor plate (behind the valve body?) and placed stronger springs in the valve body also. If I understand the results, this allowed more trans fluid to drive the piston against the clutch plates. This created the much firmer shift I was looking for.
Now, with SCT XCalibrator 2 unit, will it raise the shift points only (miles per hour) or will it actually create a firmer shift? If the 06 Mustang design of the auto trans is the same as my old C6, will it actually cause the piston to generate more force against the clutch plates? Thanks.

Thumbs up Shift "pressure" with Xcal2

Let me give you some background.... I have a stock 04 GT vert with autoshift. When I installed the Xcal2 and took it for a test run here's what happened. I did a rolling start(20mph) and then pushed the throttle to the floor. When the car shifted from 1st to 2nd, the tires spun and the rear end slid to my right, causing me to lift the throttle. I tried it again and same results. It never did that before the Xcal2 installation. And, you can adjust the shift pressure right on the device, no computer. The best place to buy it is right here at Mustang Tuning. An additional benefit of the Xcal2 is it will make your engine run smoother and give a little more power. Good night and good luck.

Default 05 v6 auto trans

Hey thomas, did you get the x cal 2? I'm curious to hear how it worked for you. I'm thinking of getting one myself.
