nuh-uh... I didn't talk you out of anything (you're welcome). I presented an option. No prob. I would highly suggest you speak with a turbo specialist who knows the formulas to spec a particular turbo head unit. Proper selection of your impeller wheels is critical to proper turbo performance. Make sure they know what kind of motor you're putting it on and your performance goals. If you haven't figured out your performance goals... now's the time.

FWIW... a 5.4 with a turbo will easily pump out 450hp/500tq at really pump gas friendly boost levels. A 450hp mustang is right at the limit of what I consider an easily street driven car. After that it starts getting hard to enjoy driving it on the street.

Don't forget that you'll need a tubular K-member. Griggs would be nice but I'd go with a Maximum Motorsports unit. Can't make a turbo work right without changing the k-member. Plan on that extra 650 bones.
