You cant just chekc to see if the gasket is bad unless you pull the heads. What you should do is see if the coolante level is going down fast. cause with a blown head gasket the coolante will be getting sucked into the motor and thats what the white smoke is. But you said its greyish so i would bet its not the head gasket at all cause if it was it would be pure white almost. have you even driven the car yet? I ask this because it sounds like you havent mayeb you should take it out and romp on it a good bit ot see if you can clear it up. might just be alot of carbon or something tha tneeds to be burnout out.
