I was looking at a 95 stang since i used to live 5.0 back in te 80s and 90s. I laid off a while.

I got this 1997 for $5500 from a friend that has a car lot and took it as a trade. As i said i didnt know what mods were done. it only had 51k on the odometer.

When i test drove it, it pulled awful hard, Better than any of my 5.0s when i first got them and reved over 6k no problem which is usually a no no for 5.0s. On testing i fiured it had some gears, but after jacking it up when i got home 3.27s.were found. This is my 8th mustang in my life.

It came with a Cold air induction, Magnaflow Catback, and if you read another shifter thread in here. I ordered a new shifter, and when i went to change it, when i pulled the boot, there was already a steeda Tri-ax!!! Dam i thought the stock shifter sure did shift good. Factory Knob on it!!

Until i Id'd the PI heads and intake, i finally found where this seemingly stock 97 was getting its extra boost. My friend with the 2002 gave me the suggestion that the heads were changed, upon looking at his and my intake. Plus that explains the ping with 87 octane in 3rd and 4th. Better gas solves it.

Looking at the stock control arms compared to these the are a lot beefier, I have the car up on Jack stands now. And upon looking at my stockers, The stock rubber bushings seem to be squriming out already. I welded up the torque boxes, and completely welded up the upper control arm mounts. Looks like only 4 tack welds were holding each one on before!! SCARY!!!

This car feels a lot tighter than the turbo 93 gt i had. I dont hear one creak, Even before i welded in the subframe connectors.

Anyone on here around Delaware?? Ill be @ cecil county drag strip when season starts. Drop me a PM
